American women are living longer than ever. The average woman lives to be about 81 years old. But a new study reports that, after working with a lifelong gender pay gap and interrupting their careers to take care of children, spouses or aging parents, women could fall far short of saving what they need to support themselves in retirement.

The fallout from the data breach at Atlanta-based Equifax is far and wide. At the end of July, the credit rating company learned it had been hacked, leaving personal information of more than 140 million people exposed. But that revelation wasn’t made public until this month. Now the company is facing a number of lawsuits, investigations, and a massive stock price hit. We talked with Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Tamar Hallerman, who has been following this story from Capitol Hill.

Thinking of getting a new credit card or buying a house? Your credit score can determine those things, and a whole lot more. A new report puts Georgia at the top of the list for worst credit in the country.  That’s according to the website, cardratings.com. Georgia’s lousy rating is the result of low credit scores, foreclosures, unemployment and bankruptcy.

A recent report from the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau shows Georgia leads most states in harassment by debt collectors. Often these are for debts people already paid, or don’t even owe. Beth Kobliner is on a mission to make sure you and your kids don’t fall prey to one of these collectors.

A new report slots Georgia third in the nation for credit card debt. The website Creditcards.com figured the average credit card debt and median income in each state, and in this case, being high on the list is bad news. We talked more about this with Atlanta financial advisor Cecily Welch.
